How are you doing?

Has this Coronavirus triggered some concerns about your health?

For sure, we can't take our health for granted but I want to reassure you that if you lay the right foundations, you'll be absolutely fine.  Although it's good to have already started, it's not too late to take this time to prioritise you and put daily practices in place.


So what do I mean by right foundations? 

I mean that a strong healthy body can not become diseased even in the face of a new strain of a virus.

I mean that even if you’re exposed to adversity, your daily application to your self-care will hold you in good stead no matter what is thrown at you.

Nothing is random, dis-ease isn't random. 

 

There have to be the right conditions in place and to help me ascertain this, I always address the 5 key areas in a person's health story.  
These are:

  • family history

  • diet

  • lifestyle

  • emotional trauma 

  • environment.

    So the real question to ask yourself right now is do you prioritise your health? 


Do you take care of yourself by investing some time and energy each day to do these 3 things?

  1. Eat right

  2. Think right

  3. Move your body. 



So let’s go a bit deeper with these 3 areas.

DIET

1a)  Do you make a loose daily plan each day so you balance healthy foods with some favourite foods?

b)    Do you include fresh vegetables and fruit with each meal? 

c)    Do you drink plenty of water?


THE MIND

2a)   Do you pay attention to your thoughts (mindfulness)?

b)     Do you recognise which voice is in control most of the time ? Your inner critic or your inner coach? (healthy mindset v. unhealthy mindset)

c)     Do you practice self-kindness and self-compassion? 


EXERCISE

3a)   Do you engage in some daily exercise?

b)     Do you spend some time in nature? 

c)     Do you focus on your breath ( to de-stress )?

If you said No to any of these questions, is it time to make a change? 

Are you scared if you try you’ll fail because you’ve tried before and it hasn’t lasted? 
Do you feel like you don’t have enough time?
Are you busy looking after everyone else and putting your needs second?
Do you try to make too many changes at once and get overwhelmed? 

 

This is your time. You can’t be successful in your job, your relationships, your health if you’re not prioritising you.
